MTNA Foundation Fellow 2018 Foundation Fellow
It is a joy to announce Linda Holden of Valier as our 2018 MTNA Foundation Fellow! Linda has served in so many capacities on our MSMTA Board over the years, including as our MSMTA President, and just this past March received her 50 year membership pin from MTNA at our National Conference in Baltimore! Congratulations, Linda! You’ll see her photo in the June/July issue of the American Music Teacher Journal receiving her pin.
Linda has expressed to me that her teaching piano and voice has been an incredible part of her life and that this nomination is just the “icing” on the cake. She feels indeed honored to have been chosen.
Through our “Fellow” program you can contribute to MTNA’s Foundation which supports teachers, students, and our profession in general. The process to fund a Fellow from our state requires $1,000 from members, friends, and family by January of 2018.
To achieve this goal, we can use any size donation: Forty $25 donors, 50-$20 donors or 100-$10 donors will accomplish this goal. In addition to individual donations, our local associations have been including this donation in their annual budgets which helps a great deal. Some have given $100 and others less depending on each organization’s situation.
To quote the MTNA website, “The Music Teachers National Association Foundation Fellow program offers a meaningful method for honoring deserving individuals while supporting the efforts of the MTNA Foundation Fund through a donation to the Foundation Fund in an individual’s name.”
Keep in mind that individual donations are tax-deductible and you will receive a donor letter from MTNA as your receipt for tax purposes. Please plan to support Linda’s nomination as our Montana Fellow by completing the MTNA Foundation Fund Donation Form, and sending a check to our MSMTA Treasurer, Carla Bell, at 2700 1st Ave. No., Great Falls, MT 59401 by January 15, 2018. Be sure to put Linda’s name in the memo on your check. If you prefer, you may send with your payment & donation form directly to MTNA Foundation Fund.
